> Selamat Hari Raya (pt 1) <

9 days since i've blogged...and it's only been a few after Hari Raya and Deepavali.

In my 16 years of life,i never once celebrated Hari Raya. Well, not until this year that is(and it's my 17th year of life)... I actually celebrated Hari Raya. And it wasn't a normal quiet celebration...it somehow has a Chinese New Year "feeling" added to it,very noisy, very happy and harmonious feeling. Actually i was thinking maybe my 1st Hari Raya would be a quiet peaceful...

How i spent Hari Raya:
Afternoon after lunch,i went out to meet my friend who's coming along to celebrate Hari Raya too. We met up, then bought a lil' something to eat,and off we went to our Malay friend's home. Nothing much happened there. In the house,we just chit-chatted and watched a vcd(half-way) and eat...

Then we went to another person house. Now HERE'S where the "fun" begin...
This 2nd house i went to wasn't like the usual malay people's house,i would say. If it didn't have the 'green plate with some unknown language on it',i would not have known this is a Malay's house. Anyway,i didn't know any of the family members 'cause it's the home of my friend's friend. I was just asked to tag along,so i went.

This malay family is rather interesting actually...their kids know how to speak mandarin, and with no strange tone!!That's a 'wow' to me... This family has 3 kids(their age i shan't reveal). At first, the kids were shy 'cause it was our 1st meeting...and maybe because of the BIG age gap. But they warmed up to us eventually, and showed us how "nice" they were. The eldest kid behaved really well actually,it was the 2 kids that's making us "feel welcome".
When they really warmed up to us,the 2 younger kids (kid A and kid B) actually asked me and my friend to be their 'horsey' and piggy-back them.
"I want to touch the ceiling! I want you carry me on your back!"kid A said to me.
After kid A came down, ANOTHER came to asked me(remember? There were 2 rather "warmed-up" kids).
"Now it's my turn! Carry me, carry me!!"kid B happily said.
This happened in cycles. One goes down, another comes up...Down and up, up and down...
We had to lie to them just to get them off our backs,man...

Now,isn't that just "great"...but wait, there's more! They got down from our backs, and brought out their Uno cards to play with us. We played with them, of course. After a few rounds,we stopped. You know children have such short attention span... Finally, time for dinner! Man, was i ever relieved!! But even during dinner, we were not spared...
While i was eating, kid A came with some food in his hand.
He then put a fried green bean in my plate of food.
"Eat this. It is good for your health."kid A told me.
I ate the fried green bean.
After i downed the fried bean, while pointing to another bean in my plate,"Why you never eat this? It's good for your health too, you know..."
I downed that bean into my stomach immediately. I finished my dinner as quick as i can(just so he would have no chance to give me more beans).

I think i'll just end here for now...the whole thing is too long. I'll continue my story next time...
