Happy Lunar New Year, ya' all...
Today's the 4th day of the lunar new year. For the past 3 days...well,i had fun and boring moments.
1st day of lunar new year:
Every year, i always look forward to this day to come fast, 'cause this is the day that i get to meet all my cousins...all those cousins from my dad's side of the family, that is.
Normally, every year without fail, all my relatives would come to my home on this day. But this year, we gathered at another realative's house. My grandma said so, thus we had to follow her orders. What to do...she's the 'Empress Dowager' of the family.
I was there first... I even had to wait an hour plus before the rest of my family finally decided to come.
Afternoon came, finally my relatives start pouring in...literally. All arrived one after another.
Had lunch, which took an hour i suppose. Then it was chat time. We all had quite a lot to catch up on. But still, chatting is faster than typing, and easier to understand. That's why we had a lot of spare time to kill after that.
We didn't know what to do. There were no cards to play; nothing to talk about. We were dead bored. What to do...just wait and stare into blank space loh.
I never expected the first day to be so boring. If they had come over to my house. We wouldn't be bored to death already.
2nd day of the new year:
A relative invited us all to their home....which is sooooooooo crammed full of stuff that we practically had no space to sit. Us kids had to sit on the floor...even though the flat was a 4-room two story high, and my home's just a 4-room flat.
Luckily, someone was smart enough to bring poker cards to play this time. But still not enough i suppose. Not enough for me anyway. I wished we had placed bets. But the adults don't allow us to...even though we are turning adults ourselves.
Well, we just spent the whole afternoon playing poker, 'cause we only had poker cards. What to do...or else we would die of boredom again.
We didn't stay for dinner. Went to River AngPow instead. We had quite a hard time finding the place... The government hid it very well, i have to say.
3rd day of the new year:
I woke up only near noon time. Had to prepare for visit to friend's house. Met up with another friend and...his friend. This time, the visit was more exciting. Still it was a game of soccer, but this time, with bets added...as in real Singapore dollars. Even my friend's mom got into our game! That was great...and i mean it.
Somehow, excitment always escalates when money's involved. Played for only a few hours though, then we went Marina Square to eat. Had a meal, though expensive, but super delicious. Went to played pool after that. Went home only at 11pm, and reach home only at 12+am.
