Yesterday, when i told my mom i didn't have any lessons on monday and instead we had a "party", she had the normal reaction that almost all parents would have - shocked.
See, the thing is that most parents always think that school is a place for studying, and nothing else. I think their mind set is still in the 60's and 70's. For all i know, during that period of time, all they did at school was study...and maybe a lil' time for them to play. Still, those chinese educated people didn't do well. And that's why i'm a poor student.
I don't know about other families, but i find that though my parents listen to news about our Govt telling them how the education system is changing with times and trying to bring out students' skills and talents, but nothing seems to go into their mind. They still think that school is only a place to study and not any other funny businesses.
And they kept asking me why i never told them about happenings in school... I wonder if they would understand even if i told them...
