Same old reason - i was too busy and lazy.
Anyway, i've not been to school for the past 3 days. My classmates and i were helping out at some kind of arts event organised by the Government (i think). Call it voluntary work, but not totally - we do get a measly pay of $12 a day.
1) We get to skip school
2) We gain work and life experience by helping out at the event
3) We get paid for the voluntary work
So, why not?
The group we worked with was...multi-national. There were people from different countries, but mostly were Jap. The artist is a Jap. The translator is a Jap. The team we work with are all Japs. That's rather good, i guess.
For the first two days, we just did some simple cutting of the materials that we would be working on. Luckily i did D'n'T during my secondary school days. My cutting skill helped a lot. Nothing much except cutting and joining, and Sticker-Boy.
(Sticker-Boy's a nice name isn't it? I shall continue to call that person Sticker-Boy.)
Sticker-Boy got his name because his job was to stick. Simple as A-B-C. And i really like calling that name.
And today was the 3rd day. We went to a elderly populated "town" in S'pore. I was actually thinking,"I don't even interact much with my grandma, and now i'm suppose to teach elders whom i don't even know, to color?!" What the hell, take one step at a time.
But it turned out that it wasn't so bad after all. Lucky me, i got a elder who knows chinese. One classmate got an old lady who is rather weak, quite stubborn, and doesn't even know how to speak a word of chinese.
One thing, the drawings were of the elders' faces, and they are suppose to color their faces themselves. The drawings were done by the Jap artist, and they were totally amazing. SO damn life-like. I wish i could draw like him, but i know it will take forever for me to learn to be that good. Oh well....
After the all the coloring, we had to put up the drawings. Now, i don't really like this part. Rather tiring, but had no choice. Honestly, i'd rather help more elders to color than put the drawings up.
Today's the day i learnt an important lesson about Arts:
The color and style of coloring isn't what affects the outcome. It is the artist, and the drawing itself that determines the art piece from the very beginning.
.....And i just saw my butt on TV.
